Abandon Ship!
I appreciate feedback on how I manage classroom behavior. I seldom use the "Everyone goes down with the ship" because of a small disruptive group. When I do though, my hope is that the type of students who even bother reading this will put some pressure on those who don't.

Hi Mr. Curry, Marie here. I wanted to answer your questions so here I go. Yes, I think 5th grade is cool. No, I think color blind doesn't describe Maniac. Last, but not least, I think Maniac hugged Miss. Beal because I think he was sorry for using bad language.

Hi this is Kaitlyn. Congratulations I love that you started blogging Mr. Curry. I love 5th grade. The worst thing so far is that we can't have more than one get out of "jail free card" and we don't get to have chances tickets more. I love that you let us do homework in class, let us be free spirited, and we get to have snacks,sweets,ect. On your blog you wanted us to answer some of your questions so here they are. I don't think Maniac is color blind because he sees just find. I think Maniac hugs and kisses Mrs. Beal because he is so sorry and didn't know it was wrong. If I got to I would read this book again. If I had a choice on who I wanted to go into class with I would pick you.

Yes, I love 5th grade, except for Tuesday when you took away recess from the people that didn't get into trouble.On the other hand it worked out okay since I had a lot of work to do and it gave me a chance to get it done.
I think that the word "colorblind" is not a good word for Maniac because he is not colorblind,he's blind to things like feelings. Or things like rules, not really rules. He just doesn't know why black kids go to white kids' houses, or why white kids don't go to black kids' houses.
I think that Maniac hugs Mrs.Beale because he is very sensitive or that he doesn't want to hurt the family.

Hi Its Talia I think colorblind is a good word to describe Maniac because he's blind to dislike. And I also wanted to tell you that I am happy for you that you got a blog! Congrats! Hi Mr. Curry. This is Marilyn here. I have a bit of a riddle because I will not tell who I am until the day of Halloween, but I will leave clues every time I leave a comment. I am a female and I am in your class that is my first clue. One of the teachers has been wanting me to ask you if you will play soccer with us. Mr. Curry when will you give some new questions for Maniac Magee or any other subject. Just to be kind I will give you one more clue. Here it is I can be sassy I can be sweet but I am not a leach.

This is Tanner. I like 5th grade because most of my friends are in my class.
I think Maniac is colorblind because he does not get that the black people live on the east side of town and that the white people live on the west side of town.
Maniac hugged Miss Beal because he thought he should have been punished for cussing.

Hi,Marilyn here. I just want to say I am being honest with my clues. I do forgive Mr. Curry for not playing soccer today. Here is my clue for today I am going to make this easy because I am not usually sleezy so I will give you three things of sports and one of them I like baseball,football,and tenis.

Hi this is Kaitlyn. I would go to Paris and Sidney Australia. In Paris I would shop and explore. If I went to Sidney Australia I would explore there and eat at all the restraunts. 1)I think he didn't want to turn Grayson over because one he did not want to turn him over because it would be to hard and he may be caught and have to go to an all boys orphanage. 2) No because people will be looking for you and I don't think people will really let you in there homes. I think Maniac is afraid of living by his self or trying to find someone who likes him and then he has to leave or something like them dieing.

Dear Mr. Curry you should update your blog. I also have some tips for you. I think you should listen to what students have to say don't cut them off. Students need room and so do you. Back off let them get in trouble. Don't let the class go down with the ship. Stop thinking that you need to do something we are fifth graders we have some type of responsibility. Have more competition. Have more recesses. I think if you don't start taking my advice you will have some trouble. The solution is right in front of you just look hard enough. I will check in at least once a week. take my advice please.

i miss you!!!! can't wait to see to again. Cross is a BIG ADVENTURE! but its not that scary because i know that Im safe and i know a bunch of peeps. I've talked to a lot of my classmates this year and we miss you!!! Hope you like your class this year! :) I found out most of the people I didn't like last year very much I'm getting to be better friends with them.
